SCIENTIFIC PRINCIPLES OF KAAL SARP YOGA
Unlike other planets (grahas), Rahu and Ketu are two invisible planets. According to traditional stories, during the churning of seas and distribution of amrit (nectar of immortality) monster Rahu concealed himself and stood in the queue of Gods. The sun and moon Gods however witnessed this and insinuated God Vishnu about this. Through his wheel, God Vishnu separated the head of Rahu from his body. Tradition holds that Rahu is the head of snake and Ketu is the tail of that snake. When all the planets come in the middle of Rahu and Ketu planet, then we have Kala Sarpa Yoga.
According to astronomy, Rahu and Ketu do not have planetary bodies. The earth and moon orbit around sun in an elliptical path. The paths of each other crisscross in the northern and southern sides. The moon takes a month to orbit around the earth and thus, it cuts across the path of earth twice a month. These two cutting points are Rahu and Ketu. Moving on its path, the point from where the moon moves towards north is called Rahu and the point from where it goes towards south is known as Ketu.
Therefore, Rahu and Ketu, unlike other points are not physical planets but two cutting points which do not have shape, weight or outline. In astrology, they are also known as shadow planets. In scientific terms, their existence are in terms of points where magnetic/gravitational forces of the earth and the moon meet and the consequent force generated is several times greater than other planets. Therefore, it has very powerful influence on the mind, thinking and working of human beings in comparison to other planets. This impact can be positive as well as negative.
According to physics, every planet has a special power to attract other which is also known as the gravitational force. Apart from these gravitation forces, these physical bodies also have magnetic and electric forces inside. When two forces collide, they generate a third consequent force which causes positive or negative impacts. Therefore, when all the planetary combinations come in between Rahu and Ketu, then it has an unexpected impact on consequent forces. Persons influenced by Kala Sarpa Yoga, therefore, have special quality and demerits. They have distinct identity from others.
Famous astrologist Shri Manik Chandra Jain believes that Rahu tells us about the future possibilities while Ketu tells us about our past deeds and previous lives. In the birth chart (kundali), the presence of Rahu in invisible columns, esp., first, second, third and fourth, have negative impacts. They create obstacles in achieving health, recognition, happiness and so on. But the presence of Rahu in visible parts of the birth chart, esp., ninth, tenth and eleventh, inspires the person to achieve goals. In any birth chart, harmonious presence of Rahu and Ketu creates a good combination of luck and builds the future of the person.
Well, apart from the other puja and dhyan Kriyas a person can do regular chants of ‘Maha-Mritunjaya Mantra’. It is considered as one of the most powerful remedy among all. The procedure is not only simple but effective if done in a proper manner and purity. It is recommended to perform the special rituals in the guidance of a priest.
