Former president of India and Bharat Ratna recipient Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam was born in a semi-literate middle class family in Tamilnadu. He was born on 15 October, 1931 and his parents were Jainulabdeen and Ashiyamma. He was the youngest of the four children. It was hard to believe that a person with such background and such normal features will become so famous. His full name was Dr Abul Pakir Jainulabdeen Abdul Kalam. About his name he says that his first name Abul has come from his great grand parents, Pakir is the name of his grand father, Jainulabdeen was his father. Thus his name comes from three generations and with their blessings he has been successful.
