‘Take A U Turn’ written by Dr. Krishna Saksena is a novel. It is the story of two friends, Sandeep and Astutosh. They are very close to each other though opposite in many ways. Like all young boys of today they grow up under different influences. They face many ordeals for that is what life means. Ashutosh is a N.R.I., who has the craze to live in the glittering world of outside his country. A violent jerk shakes him and he wakes up to understand what life and its happiness means. A heart-warming story of a youngman who returns to India after a long stay abroad and discovers a new faith and a new meaning in life which transforms him completely.
The fast moving events of the novel capture the mind of the readers. For in these moments and in the characters they can all somehow, somewhere identify themselves. It is a novel for all, young and old, men and women alike. A fierce battle is raging within all of us for more money, for higher positions and for greater comforts and all this at the cost of culture, values and good of the nation. There is an urgent call for a U TURN. We need to change our thoughts to change the world.
About the author : Dr. Krishna Saksena has a brilliant academic career. She is the first woman candidate in whole of U.P. and amongst few in India to get the Ph. D degree in English Literature in the year 1955. A devotee of Mother Divine, she strongly feels that without the base of spiritualism, nothing will ever succeed in this materialistic world. So she well combines in her works spiritualism with materialism. A professor of Delhi University, she has to her credit a number of publications. Her recent publication, “You Me & The Divine” has been highly applauded by her critics and much appreciated by the readers. She has lived long to learn from mistakes, a feeling well conveyed to her readers.
